Create a live course from a template

A course template provides the starting syllabus and schedule pattern. Creating a live course makes a branch-specific course with generated sessions and copies of its starting course content.

Before you start

  • Work in the correct branch.
  • Make sure the template is active and has an active syllabus and pattern.
  • Confirm the intended course start date, primary teacher, and maximum class size.
  • Review the syllabus chapters and pattern because they shape the generated schedule.

Create and review the course

  1. Open Live Courses and choose Create Live Course.
  2. Select the template and enter the live course details, including course name, start date, primary teacher, and capacity.
  3. Review the schedule preview. Session count is based on syllabus chapters when present; otherwise, it comes from the schedule pattern.
  4. Review the generated session dates and times, including any branch holiday adjustments.
  5. Save the course. It is created in Planned status with its sessions.
  6. Check the course and session list. When ready, an authorized course manager can open enrollment.

The course begins with copies of the template content and schedule. Later template edits do not automatically update an existing live course. Course-level content or schedule changes must be made through the live-course workflows.

Course status at a glance

Courses progress through Planned, Enrollment Open, Enrollment Closed, In Progress, and Completed; cancelled courses are not available for normal enrollment. Starting a course requires the minimum number of active enrollments configured for that course. Contact a course administrator if a status action is unavailable.
